The Shield uses a bed of premium coconut shell carbon combined with catalytic carbon media inside a 10×54 tank. As water flows through the media bed, the carbon adsorbs chlorine, chloramines, VOCs, pesticides, and other chemical contaminants on contact. The catalytic carbon is especially effective at breaking down chloramines — the disinfectant many cities have switched to that standard carbon struggles with. Garnet underbedding at the bottom of the tank provides an extra layer of sediment filtration and helps maintain proper flow distribution through the carbon bed. A simple in/out head — no electricity, no drain, no moving parts — lets water flow through at full household pressure.
