Water passes through a 4-stage filtration process. Stage 1: A sediment pre-filter catches particles. Stage 2: A carbon pre-filter removes chlorine to protect the membrane. Stage 3: The RO membrane — with pores just 0.0001 microns (a human hair is 70 microns) — strips out 95–99% of everything dissolved in the water. Stage 4: A carbon post-filter polishes the taste.
